Sponsored by Lower Charities Watershed Association and Allegheny Cleanways Tireless Project

On Saturday, Sept. 29th, canoers and kayakers took to the waters of the Chartiers Creek for a cleanup event.

They started at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse in Crafton and paddled downstream to where the creek enters the Ohio River at McKees Rocks, removing garbage from the creek as they went. At the end of the route, a dumpster awaited them in the Municipal Parking lot in McKees Rocks. Following the clean-up, a celebration was held at the Community Develoment Center's lot next to Hollowood Music and the municipal lot.
