McKees Rocks occupies one square mile along the south bank of the Ohio River just a few miles from downtown Pittsburgh.
The Rocks (as it is commonly known) combines the charm of its history with a 21st-century energy. Founded in 1769 and incorporated in 1829, McKees Rocks has 6,000 diverse residents, from people who have lived here for generations to newcomers just moving in who see the opportunities the Rocks provides.

McKees Rocks Bridge Complete Closure Notice - Thursday, December 5, 2024
A FULL closure of the McKees Rocks Bridge is scheduled for Thursday, December 5, 2024 during the hours of 9AM-3PM for crews to install overhead sign replacements. Traffic will be detoured on the West End Bridge. Please be cautious and expect traffic delays.
August 7, 2024 - West Carson Street Ext NOW OPEN for all vehicle use
The Borough would like to advise all residents our newly constructed road, referred to as West Carson Street Ext is officially open for vehicle and truck traffic.
