McKees Rocks has a lot of rental properties and as a result, has strict guidelines for Landlords.
In December the Council adopted a new comprehensive Landlord Ordinance effective January 1, 2019. Here are a few important things you should know:
- All Landlords must register with the borough and pay a fee of $80 per year for each rental property
- All landlords must have a current occupancy permit for their property before renting it
- All rental properties are subject to inspection by the building inspector at least once every three years
We suggest that you stop by the Borough Building at 340 Bell Ave and talk with the Building Inspector before buying a rental property or turning a currently owned property into a rental property to avoid issues later on.
