Property Tax
Property Owners are Responsible for paying property taxes to three taxing entities:
- Allegheny County
- The Borough of McKees Rox
- Sto-Rox School District
Each entity will send out their own statements. Property Owners are responsible for paying their taxes even if no statement was received. Contact the Borough Tax Collector with questions about Borough or School District taxes. Contact the County Tax Collector for questions about County taxes.
Homeowners and Senior citizens may be eligible for certain tax discounts on their taxes. See the County website for more information on the Homestead exemption and Senior Citizen tax relief.
Wage Tax
Your employer will withhold 1% of your earned income for the local wage tax.
You should receive a tax form to file in January when you receive your other tax documents. If you are self-employed, you are still responsible for paying the wage tax.

Local Services Tax
The Local Services Tax is $1/week or $52/year on earned income. There is no Local Services Tax on wages below $12,000/yr.
