McKees Rocks Borough - Accepting Letters of Interest - 3 Commission(s), 1 Vacancy each

Attn Residents: The Borough of McKees Rocks is accepting Letters of Interest for one vacancy on the Planning Commission, one vacancy on the Zoning Hearing Board, and one vacancy on the Civil Service Commission.

Letters of Interest are due no later than Monday, April 10, 2023.  Letters of Interest can be emailed to adminassistant@mckeesrockspa.us or brought to the borough office in person 8AM-4PM.

Description of Commissions are below:

The Planning Commission is a group of citizens that serve within local government, acting as a recommending body to the Zoning Board on issues and policies related to planning, zoning, land use regulation, and community development. Member(s) of the Planning Commission must be a resident of the borough for 1 year; May also be an elected official or borough employee.

The Zoning Hearing Board is a group of citizens that serve within local government, acting as a decision making body on issues and policies related to planning, zoning, land use regulation, and community development that do not meet the Borough’s current zoning ordinance(s). Member(s) of the Zoning Board must be a resident of the borough for 1 year, though can not be an elected official or borough employee.

The Civil Service Commission is a group of citizens that serve within local government, enforcing rules and regulations pertaining to civil service employees. Members of the Civil Service also certifies the eligibility of qualified applicants for positions and promotions within the police department. This Commission meets on a “as needed” basis. Member(s) of the Civil Service Commission must be a resident of the borough for 1 year; May be an elected official or borough employee.
