Attn Residents: Message from Berkheimer regarding sewer bills

Borough of McKees Rocks Residents:

In response to billing concerns voiced by the Borough Administrative Office to Berkheimer regarding the mailing of recent sewer bills, please read their response back to the Borough Administrative Office:

"Good morning LeeAnn,

I understand the frustration and I can see how it would appear that we billed a month too early, but the October bill is actually a late August bill. Long story short – I don’t recall the exact circumstances (though we all know that 2020 was a difficult year), but the 2020 bill dates were skewed and only three bills were actually issued during the 2020 calendar year. As a result, an effort is being made to get the quarterly billing back on track while also making a conscious effort to not send out bills too terribly close together. The bill that they just received was for the March-June service dates.

The next bill (for June-Sept service dates) is tentatively scheduled for mid-late December, with a mid-late January due date. Then the goal is to resume the previous arrangement of billing in February, May, August, and November. If the borough would prefer to revise this planned billing schedule and make changes to any of these tentative bill dates, we will be happy to work with you to create the best schedule for your homeowners.

I apologize if you were not previously aware of the 2020 bill situation. We are doing our best to resolve this without inconveniencing anyone. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please let us know.

Thank you, Stephanie

If you have any additional concerns, please reach out to the Borough Office or your Ward's Councilmember(s) through the Borough Website via email.
