BOROUGH OF MCKEES ROCKS

The Borough of McKees Rocks Council will hold a public meeting to consider adoption of an Ordinance, as titled and summarized below, said meeting to be held at the McKees Rocks Borough Building, 340 Bell Avenue, McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania on the 12th day of November 2024 at 7:00 p.m.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF McKEES ROCKS, ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, ADOPTING A SOLID WASTE ORDINANCE, REQUIRING AND PROVIDING FOR  THE PROPER DISPOSAL OF SOLID WASTE AND RECYCLING MATERIALS IN THE BOROUGH WITH AND BY LICENSED COLLECTOR; THE ESTABLISHMENT OF FEES AND CHARGES FOR THE COLLECTION OF THE SAME; AND PROVISION OF PENALITIES AND REMEDIES FOR VIOLATIONS AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR LEGISLATION.

Summary

The proposed Ordinance repeals and replaces Borough Ordinance No. 1504, as amended,  to describe and provide for solid waste and recycling in the Borough for residential properties, as defined.  The Ordinance establishes standards and requirements associated with municipal garbage and recycling services.  Fees and charges associated with this municipal service are authorized, and enforcement mechanisms and penalties are duly provided for. 

A copy of the proposed Ordinance may be examined in the office of the Borough Manager at the Borough Building during normal business hours.
