Gibson 2
announcement regarding former Ferris Boys & Girls Club

Today was a GREAT day for McKees Rocks!

The Josh Gibson Foundation along with partners, the DICK’S Foundation and Under Armour celebrated the official launch of a new space, formerly known as the Ferris Boys & Girls Club, that will empower young athletes and promote community through sports and recreation.

This new facility will serve as a safe environment where youth can explore their talents, build teamwork, and grow both physically and mentally. This space will also serve the disabled and adult population too providing the opportunity to connect with others and have a place to learn, thrive, and grow.

The DICK’s Foundation announced today to match up to $2 million dollars in funding while Under Armour pledged another $250,000, as well as new equipment and uniforms for the youth involved in the Gibson Foundation program that will play on the teams when the facility opens in the future.

The Josh Gibson Foundation and the DICK’s Foundation hopes this announcement will kickstart more donations for this state-of-the-art facility.
