Public Notice - Proposed Adoption of Borough Ordinance; establishing the scope and service of the delinquent real estate tax collector

The Borough of McKees Rocks Council will hold a public meeting to consider adoption of an Ordinance, as titled and summarized below, said meeting to be held at the McKees Rocks Borough Building, 340 Bell Avenue, McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania on the 10th day of March 2026 at 6:30 p.m.

A ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF McKEES ROCKS, COUNTY OF ALLEGHENY, COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA, ADOPTING A SCHEDULE OF ATTORNEYS’ FEES IN CONNECTION WITH THE COLLECTION OF DELINQUENT REAL ESTATE TAXES, TAX CLAIMS, TAX LIENS, MUNICIPAL CLAIMS, AND MUNICIPAL LIENS PURSUANT TO ACT 1 OF 1996 AND ACT 20 OF 2003 AND ADOPTING A SCHEDULE OF CHARGES, EXPENSES AND FEES PURSUANT TO THE ACT OF MAY 16, 1923, AS AMENDED, 53 P.S. §7101, AND §7103, AND §7106, AND HEREBY REPEALING ANY OTHER ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH RELATING TO ASSIGNMENT AND AUTHORITY OF COLLECTOR AND THE SCHEDULE OF ATTORNEYS’ FEES PURSUANT TO ACT 1 OF 1996.

Summary

The proposed Ordinance establishes the scope and service of the delinquent real estate tax collector and adopts the related fee schedule, consistent with Act 20 or 2003 and Act 1 of 1996, where applicable. These statutes transfer the costs of delinquent tax collection to the delinquent taxpayer and describes the due process associated with the same.

A copy of the proposed Ordinance may be examined in the office of the Borough Manager at the borough building during normal business hours.
